Bootmen - Character description
MATT LEE - Johnno

In BOOTMEN Matt Lee plays Johnno. Says Matt: "Johnno is a sixteen year old who Sean discovers in a tap class. The others persuade him to join the show because he can tap, but they treat him as a kid and kick him around a lot! During the course of the film he grows up and even finds his first girlfriend! He was a great character to play!

Matt became a professional tap dance when he was just 14. He worked with director Dein Perry on "Steel City". Says Matt: "Dein then approached me and said he had a great role in a film he wanted me to play. I jumped at the opportunity. I love working with Dein - I've known him for a long time. He used to teach me at tap classes when I was about twelve." He continues: "BOOTMEN was my first film experience although I was in 'RENT' which required a strong acting background, as well as dance. Making the film was a fantastic experience! I was told it would be a very slow process with a lot of hanging around, but we had so much fun! The cast were a great bunch of people, all with very similar backgrounds. Many of us had worked together before, which made it easier. The audience is going to see so much amazing energy in the film."
